Fuzzy Wuzzy Fibres and Club updates

It's been kind of a daze after the Handknitters Guild mini wool show last Saturday at the Brunswick Town Hall. There were lots of fibre enthusiasts there and the atmosphere was buzzzzing with excitement and the desire to hug fibres and yarns. It was FULL ON and oh boy was I tired afterwards !! Thank you all for coming and visiting my stall (and telling me to eat something..lol) and snaffling my yarns and fibres. It has been totally awesome and heartwarming!

There is no rest for the wicked though as they say and I immediately had to get cracking for the Bendigo show starting the 16th of July ! This seems like a loooong time away still but believe me it will be there sooner than you can say "let's wash fleeces-dye-card-spin-make art yarn and heaps of batts!' lol No need to say then that when deadlines are closing in, I get all excited and energised :)

I must say though that although I am happy the way things are going healthwise at the moment -fingers crossed- my energy levels and capability of doing large amounts of stuff til the early early hours in the morning ...ahem....has diminished considerably after the uterine cancer, operation and treatments. I am still in the fase of fine tuning all kinds of concoctions to make my body and brain work ..lol...but most importantly I have come to a very important realisation: ask for help, speak up, rest when your body tells you to (still trying to listen to that one ....lol) and most importantly be able to say "no". I have always had trouble saying "no"(and I know I am not alone ..lol). Sometimes it can be very hard to speak your mind and actually say the word NO , especially when you are already under a lot of stress and physically weakened. It is so liberating though! lol...I was very proud of myself when I spoke my mind when I had another visit to the Royal Womens Hospital this monday and the dr wanted to "palm me off"to another one because it was somewhere closer to where I live (she obviously meant well ...) . I said "NO"I'd rather drive three hours and not have to tell my story over and over again and get virtually nowhere than go Dr Shopping. With all this hopping around and testing and poking and prodding I have to say that it is a miracle I get anything done..lol

That ofcourse and the animal kingdom wanting the service to improve at the Ixchelbunny fly through birdseed service station:

On the bunny front: Minne is doing much better! it is really amazing how she has improved! the tumors have diminished considerably and her eyes and face are so clean ! the infection seems to have gone overnight (well that is a bit of an exageration since I have been tending her for 5months..lol). I do have to mention that changing her diet to an even more organic green diet and giving her immune improving herbs (like the mushroom plant, lots of parsley, etc) have done wonders. It is so easy to feed bunnies just pellets because that is was that pet shop says eh..but believe me , there are no pelletes in nature..lol...green is the way to go. On that note :

I have some very nice shiny things for you to look at and some very fluffy Batts as well. I have been working on lots of commissions so no hand spun yarn but I did dye some extremely nice Bamboo yarn (4ply) I had hoped to put on the update. However I have dyed it this monday and it is still damp! It has been frrrreeeeezzzzing cold here though but it does mean it will just have to wait to be put on the blog.

I am starting the sign ups for all the ixchel clubs today !!!!! The deadline for signing up has been put forward to the 28th of June! This will give me the time to prepare it all before going to the Bendigo Show in July and the Goldcoast spin in afterwards. Please let me know if you have any questions okay? You know I am always happy to help/enable and I know we are all doing ittough at the moment but what is life without fibre? :) Become a member of an Ixchel Club and you will not only get a pretty fibre /yarn parcel in the mail every month you will also be supporting a small animal loving unique fibre farm:)
postage rates of AusPost will go up end of this month I just heard So there will be a slight surcharge. I will let you know the total as soon as I get their rates, but the postage cost mentioned here will give you an idea of the cost. I only charge AusPost rates.

Hi Charly,

I am loving the yarn I bought from you recently! I'm going to buy more as soon as I finish with what I am currently using!

Charly, I am having a terribly hard time finding a new bunny. No one is Tasmania will contact me back. I found one in Victoria but it cost more to have him shipped than for the actual bunny!

If you hear of any can you pass on my details. I cant cope not having a bunny and my kids miss Jasper terribly.

Take care of yourself :)
