The last thing I want to do is post a sad sob story so close to Christmas but on the other hand , I have always shared everything with you and I think it’s only fair you know.
So better get it over and done with …
Better get my hankies out….hold on….
Anyway, Last week I have been packing up so many Christmas surprise parcels from the blog the Friday before, I started feeling like an elf in Santas workshop…..all good you think eh?
Yes it was …everything was running pretty smoothly (apart from Pauls car not working so I was stuck here , but that’s okay, I had heaps of work to do anyway..all good)….
Even Jazz was feeling much better after her gastro/flu whatever and back to her old self and eating like a little piggie.
It was looking up..I was thinking “maybe I will have some time off close to Christmas, ..relax a bit..you know…..a bit of a holiday !feeling started to come over me… until….
Wednesday………. Wednesday I noticed that Bear was off his grains food which was unusual ! and because it was going to be so hot on Thursday I thought it best to give him a haircut although it wasn’t really his turn yet…
I groom him every other day but this time with the weather coming close to 40C (104F) nobody would like to wear a fur coat..so on the grooming table he went the sweetheart.
All went very well until I felt a little lump under his fur near his spine….I carefully clipped the hair away and found that it was quite a big lump and a strange one at that. It could be a cyst or something else…
And so.... the lump was removed as best as possible and antisceptic applied....
After that ordeal he was subdued but very responsive and actually seemed quite happy to have lost both the fur coat and the lump ….
I kept my eye on him and gave him his fav greens which he ate …so it seemed everything was under control…
Until Thursday morning …he did not touch his hay or ate his dinner grains..so I gave him critical care and lots of water…he was feeling so much better after that and I kept him in a cool room with the fan on, feeding him critical care and water throughout the day.
He was hopping around , lying on iceblocks and waiting til Paul got home from work… and then at 8.30pm he hopped to his fav new spot under my weaving loom and …. took a last breath and slipped away…
just like that …......gone!.....
My Super bear …..is gone…..........................and I can’t stop crying…..
That same night Paul and I prepared a resting place for him under the big pine tree…with his favourite food bowl and a bunny….
I’m too heart broken atm to offer you any fibery stuff today I hope you don’t mind. Instead I added some photos of gorgeous Bears' too short but full life...He was always adventurous, up to play the star role in any campaign , whether he was going for Prime minister or starring in the Bunny vs Wild or being the ambassador for the Wooshy Cloud as a fiercesome Jedi Knight.
RIP Bear….you will be remembered…always
Despite this huge loss to the bunny world as I know it, I wish you all a very happy hoppy Christmas !!!! I want to thank you all from the bottom of mey heart for being there with me and being there FOR me this year, for showing your support and loving my blog and fibery goodies.
Don’t worry there will be another blog next week as usual with hopefully some better and more uplifting news to end 2013 and start off a new one!
Big hugs !
Super Bear for President campaign
(probably exploring already although he was just 2 days at that time and had no hair or couldn't see!!) and was so cold I feared he wouldn;t make it..
