It was a serious question, very serious! : “What does an Easter Bunny like to eat?” Well, I said, “it’s pretty much like all bunnies, really: carrots , the equivalent of a packet of chips for bunnies, or broccoli, and some very yummy bread with lots of grains in it”…I was ofcourse clutching at straws, because what do you say to a 5 year old who still believes in the Easter bunny? After all…the reason why we don’t ask ourselves that question anymore is because the Easter Bunny Monster (read Easter egg commercialism and so called common sense) has totally destroyed any idea of magic it may have held when we were 5. It’s not only with the Easter bunny, Christmas has undergone the same fate….Well, I say, no more, let’s all stand up for the rights of the Easter Bunny and protect it from destruction by the evil Easter Bunny eating Monster and go crazy: have fun painting eggs, hiding chocolate goodies and go with the flow of fantasy and make belief. Why ? Well, why not?
Can you still remember the fun you had as a kid, having a ball running around and playing and not having to think to yourself , or having other people tell you , that what you had been doing all this time was actually not the truth, was a mistake, was not real? I say, rebel !!, and believe what you want. Who are they to tell you what to believe or not? As long as you are not hurting anybody or yourself, you can believe anything you want to. Power to imagination I say! There is no right or wrong ( again, as long as you don’t hurt anybody), there is no reason why you shouldn’t have a ball and believe in the easter bunny….it might be lurking in the corner , afraid to come out because of that scary impersonator the Easter bunny eating monster (see illustration above) and all it needs is your support to come out ! C’mon! you KNOW you want to ! It’s fun! Before you know it you will be hopping around everywhere with ears on and playing your favourite sport ..in bunny attire!
haven’t come across bunny cricket or AFL or Rugby yet but it wont be too far off ...
it’s a combination the easter bunny doesn’t seem to happy with though…..judging by the look on its face when a duck is sitting on him …..
Happy Easter !
Happy Easter egg hunting!
and let’s all protect the Easter Bunny from the evil Easter Bunny eating monster !
