People who have seen me at shows in the past think I am this extroverted “do it all”, but in fact I am an introvert with vertigo, climbing Mount Everest. A bit of a strange analogy but I hope you understand what I am talking about. Put me by myself somewhere with paints and dyes and fibres or a canvas and I am good, in times of anxiety. Ask me to go to a party or a retreat or a big show, I get even more anxious and insecure. I know I am weird…but there you have it. It’s not that I do not like people: at times I just have a hard time coping when I am stressed or anxious. And, at this moment of time I am in over my head with anxiety. I have no idea what to do about it, but I will have to figure something out before I become a crazy cat and bunny lady..oh wait…I already am..LOL
I’ll be fine….I just need to calm down and take charge. AND, a very important thing, make sure that I say “no” more…especially when I know it is putting me under a lot of pressure at a time that I can do without. I am still learning..
So yeah, I have had a couple of rough days and I hope after this weekend I will come out the other end and have things under a control a bit more. I really wonder how other people cope with anxiety or stress. I know everybody is different. Everybody reacts different to these kind of situations and there is probably not a set of rules that applies to everybody. I am tiring myself out at an exponential level though and staying in bed sleeping, with a blanket over my head is just not going to be the answer….So, I will do some dyeing over the weekend and gathering my thoughts together with some eucalyptus leaves from the forest and let myself breathe again.
Because the show must go on (read: bills must be paid..lol) I have put together a nice selection of colours from a blend that is close to my heart: Gothic bunny.
The black in the blend may seem dark and gloomy but when you spin it, it intensifies the colours in a strange way it is like life isn’t it? The tough times may seem to take over and get very dark, but at the same time it makes the fun moments shine brighter. Well, that’s my “there’s always a silver lining moment” of the day for you. If you feel that you are dealing with anxiety or stress, talk to someone! Do not let it fester like I did ! I am paying for it now. The Stiff upper lip thing is good for only a certain amount of time before it bites you in the behind. Thank you all for reading and standing by me, eventhough I am a miserable sod at the moment. Now, I am going to try and get better by breathing deep, watching some hilariously funny movies and getting a lot of fresh air over the weekend and do a lot of spinning and dyeing. Having fun.
