Fairytales and Romance

Every time I am in my little dye room, standing there, with white fibres staring back at me, waiting for their dye bath, there’s never a plan really. Plans and me do not go together very well. Having a plan or recipe book all set out is just not me. 

Every now and again I have my favourites which I repeat that is true, but they change like the seasons, with how I feel, what I have been reading or experiencing. It always changes. It is always an adventure. 

I am super lucky never to have had “painters block” as in writers block and staring at a blank canvas and having no idea what to do with it. I feel extremely lucky that way !! 

This week there are a few extra special colours that I put together and mixed and I hope that you love them just as much as I do. They are ranging from super happy and bright to this romantic Lord Byronesque poetic feel. 

Well anyway ,that was what I was after. I named one “Romance on Mars” and another one with cool silver and gold tones that mingle with velvets “ Romancing Lord Byron”… My imagination sometimes gets the better of me I know…. Do I dream in technicolour as well ? I will let you guess …lol 

 I have been super busy this week dyeing (of course) but also spinning lots and lots of yarns: ranging from custom orders of Qiviut blend yarns to pure angora yarns. I am desperately trying to spin heaps of yarns so I have some stock, but it is like taking 1 step forward and 2 steps back at this point. My motto as always is “Keep Swimming !” as the wise Dory from Finding Nemo would say.
