Misty Planning

Winter has reared its head and it is noticeably COLD! Which makes for nice crispy misty mornings here. You have a magnificent view from my studio and it is always inspiring ! Cold, but inspiring…lol. Bear has ben clipped but his new coat is already peeping through,a lthough I must say that every now and again I see him wanting to cuddle up to our bunny dog Jazz, warmly sleeping on her bed in the studio. So, what’s going on here? Well, its been kind a busy again as usual. I am dyeing, dyeing, spinning and more dyeing and in between that Im trying to cook a meal that will warm up everybody and take care of the bunnies and chooks. With the winter comes some more winetry wet weather, so I finally decided to install a safe step to get to the bunny bunker as we call it and also the chook run, which has always proven to be super slippery and there is nothing worse than being cold, wet and slipping in mud , looking like Shrek afterwards. So after extensive nagging that proved pointless, I did it myself. Ten more to do and then ….the raised garden beds …and…and…where’s my list? I did do something Quirky: I always wanted a bunny mailbox, so I made one ! Cute eh?
Talking about lists: I haven’t made a famous or infamous bucket list yet, but Im definitely thinking of getting something done about that: for one, and people might think this is absolutely amazing: I have never ever had a massage! I know! My muscles are literally screaming for some! That AND a spa or something super relaxing. Making that a priority on my “bucket list”for after the Bendigo Show! The misty morning I was talking about earlier decided to get mistier and more dark just after I ALMOST uploaded all my hand dyed fibres and yarns for the update…and then..out of the blue……bam! No power! Just at a time when I was organised and EARLY, something totally out of my control mucked it up! Typical! Living in a bushfire prone area with lots and lots of trees, bushland and scrub, the electricity providers are getting a bit more conscientious and checking all the powerlines and maintaining them, but at the cost of power outages for a WHOLE day !!!! What made me even more angry was the fact that they had told us by letter a month beforehand and I totally forgot until the power went down this morning…..oh well, nothing that could be done except organise mood lighting for the bunnies in the bunny bunker, oxygenise the fish regularly and Oh darn, forgot to fill up the water supply, so ..yep until 5 pm no light, no water, no electricity, no tea or coffee!!!!! I know! Hitting my head on the table repeatedly! So, although the update as planned to go live at noon did not go as planned, it will be now, a mere 8 hours late… Safe to say, I did not do any dyeing (remember no power or sunshine for that matter oh and no water) but what I did do, was clean up the place for the bunny spin in tomorrow, package the mini skeins, prepped some more camelbunny silk for the dyepot on the Sunday! Tomorrow is bunny spin in day again and I have some WHITE choc cookies planned, although saying that, planning something is very dangerous it seems: you never know what can happen …

The Bendigo Sheep and Wool Show 2012

I will be in the Flower (bunny) shed again this year with heaps of new fluffy stuff and in full bunny regalia !!

This year it is even going to BIGGER and more HUGE than ever !!! Come join the Happy Fibre Family at the Flower Power Bunny Shed at the Bendigo Show grounds. You can found me and heaps of other super creative and interesting spinning and knitting and craft people there. The Flower Power Bunny shed is the shed right at the end of the woolcraft sheds. Just go left immediately after the entrance gates and keep walking straight to the end (follow the carrots and the bunnies ! )

Join me in all the fun ! There will be a huge amount of new blends and fibres to choose from and lst but not least: There are prizes to be won!!!!! Spend over $75 and win a $150 fibre or yarn pack!!!  or a super duper spindle packs and more !!

The woolcraft schedule is published and the IxCHeL Fibre farm is sponsoring a catergory this year in the handspun yarn classes in Natural Animal Fibres class 23 and 24 !!! We feel it is very important to get the word out . Angora fibre and cashmere and mohair and alpaca and baby camel is amazing to spin, felt, weave, embellish and crochet with!
