Where is that Tardis when you need it?

 

The new series of Dr Who has started! yeah! I was so looking forward to it and the first episode: all about the dangers of WIFI, certainly has delivered.  For all you hexapuffers out there : at the Bottom of this weeks blog there is a little chart for that extra special Dr Who hexapuff to enjoy !

 

Just when I was starting to breathe and relax and enjoying a bit of calming down after the "Tassie Tour" I realised something...shock! It's APRIL!!!!!! And then…… I suddenly realised that the Huge Wool & Craft show happening organised by the Handknitters guild Victoria is only a month away !!!! Can you believe it???!!! I hardly have settled back in from the Tasmania Tour and now I am spinning and dyeing like a mad woman again to get lots of goodies ready for the Hand knitters Wool & Craft Show. Where is that Tardis when you need it...lol

This Wool & Craft Show of the Handknitters guild is great fun and kind of like a pre-Bendigo-Bash if you know what I mean. That is why I have been trying my best to have a couple of new blends ready so all of you can come and visit and cuddle these new babies at the event in May !

 

There is a change of venue I have been told, because the Brunswick town hall where it is normally held is being renovated. The Hand knitters Wool & Craft Show is now held on

 

Saturday 11 May 2013

at the Bardin Centre Hall at Christ Church, 8 Glenlyon Road, Brunswick

from 10am til 3pm.

 

You can find the venue easily, its not that far away from the Brunswick town hall and its close to the corner of Syndey Road (Melways code: 28 8G).

 

 I will be there with Bells on (well, ears on as usual..lol) and there will be new blends, new yarns, art yarns, some very funky batts and other fluffy stuff, not to mention badges and other magical things to cuddle.

This week I worked on some new bamboo bunny sock weight 4ply yarn with appr 425m per 100grams. One skein will do a pair of socks and ofcourse it knits and crochets up beautifully into shawls and tops as well. I don’t know about you , but I love to combine tonal varietions with variegated yarns. So I have made new colour combos of variegated yarn and have dyed up some tonals that can be magically combined with them ofcourse can be used on their own in lace projects.

  When you think that variegated yarns will diminish the strength of your lace pattern , using tonal variegated yarns is the solution. You will still have that magical movement going through your garment but it will be a tranquil variation and will not take anything away from your design. As you can see these Tonals all go very well together as well! Just imagine a top in a combination of the Rose with Alice in Wonderland and mystic grey. YUM! Or for a more bright combo try Jackaranda with Ice Age.

If you are after combining a variegated yarn with a tonal, just see how Alice in Wonderland goes with Boat ride , or Rose with Rose garden. Combining Tonals with Variegated yarns will add so much magoc to your project.
