October Optimist and Pumpkins

It’s Friday ! Yeah ! I certainly hope that the coming week is better than the past one because every single day was like Friday the 13th…car boot door broke down, well..car /the tardis is on its last legs and is probably awaiting a sooner than later “regeneration”,    then on a busy day all the power went again (granted the power comp[any told me in advance, but I forgot) and then the power was restored for a mere 30minutes before a wind struck it out again …a whole day and evening..sigh…    then some soft ware started to play up so I couldn’t finish my designing and when I finally got back to fixing it, my sewing machine gave up the spirit..no easy fix..I am without sewing machine for at least three weeks now...    then my sound system (ancient, I admit it) swallowed up my cd (equally ancient..lol) making me believe it is time to change and go to the cloud and wifi the bloody century of music data I have accumulated ...     then my car decided to not believe in refuelling anymore (which is kinda hard to have an existentialist vehicle...lol)..then...then my  doctor called me that my scanning appointmet had to be rescheduled coz the machine broke down...(luckily I was just 5 seconds away from hopping in the car).....I mean ! Really?   Incidents have happened which I won’t even mention here..there are too many ..and it is becoming more and more frequent.this whole week !.it’s like the universe tells me to stay in bed….hahaha! Me? No way! After a temper tantrum and a lot (A LOT!) of profanities, which sends Jazz the Bunny dog (who I am sure was a catholic nun in her past life!) in such a mode of distress trying to calm me down, I just can’t help but smile and think “oh well, WTH, let’s play some music on LOUD and party!

I am sure that everybody has these accumulated disaster moments every now and again. Advertising has everybody believe life is just a bed of roses without telling you that when you dive on the bed, you get stung by a thousand thorns and leave the bed with a rash. Happiness does not happen, it doesn’t come gift wrapped and you can’t buy it at the store or on line either: some people get totally lost when something  goes awry, others have major catastrophies happen and stay composed and smile.

I like to think I am a glass half full kind a person only if there is only a tiny drop left. Okay, sometimes it gets too much and I think to myself “ OMG is this it? Really? Why me? Why? Whatever? But in the end , getting all miserable about it does not help one iota, on the contrary : it just makes everything more bleak and miserable. My coping mechanism? Apart from playing with colour (yes, because colour does “colour your spirit!” ) and to spin yarn is to open up the floodgates of music, party!, play ! feast! It’s not pushing my misery under the carpet. Not at all. It is showing this little devil on my shoulder who tells me “see, everything goes wrong for you. You better give up” that he is absolutely wrong and I will prove it !

 Mind you, I am the kind of person who is absolutely terrified of some things and goes out of her way to do just that, just to prove a point. I am not sure what that says …lol So, While listening to a total 80s revival on LOUD (Pet Shop Boys atm, I know! That is how distressed I am..lol followed by some serious House with the bass on 10..)
