Most people would say I am “normal” ..well, until they see me in my bunny ears and parading around with yarns and fibres all over and then, maybe then, they will say “hmm, maybe she is a bit..eh....different”…lol
Nowadays they have labels for just about everything, badges if you like. There are always new labels or badges “invented” for just about everything. Tests are made to determine whether you fall into this or that category. Whether you are “labelled” OCD, or ADD or Autistic, Bipolar, “Normal” or which ever label they have in vogue at the time….do you consider yourself passionate about anything? C’mon tell me! I know I am. I am passionate for just about anything really..which obviously would make me ..eh…what? Eccentric? At least that’s what they called people displaying “off norm behaviour” in Victorian times. Nobody would say to a brilliant writer or painter or passionate person.she/he is nuts ..no ! We were deemed eccentric ! it has a kind of nice ring to it and I for one, would love to be called eccentric up until the day I die. Wouldn’t you ? Who wants to be normal anyway ? lol

For, like , EVER!, my drive was deemed “eccentric”, Over the top. My interests, be it in painting or music, were talked about in a way “ oh yes, now she is so into piano…violin….singing…harp..cello”…..Only a tiny itty bittty bit of just the right molecules in the right spot has to hit my heart strings and “I’m off!” .. I guess I’m just about passionate about everything!...lol…very dangerous. Why? Because normal convention says you cannot possibly master Everything ! Ofcourse you can’t ! But you can always try ! What’s the use in saying to yourself “ well, I cannot possibly do this because I won’t be a master at it?” What’s the use of trying anything then? Why do we (or read the “system” ) set the bar for ourselves so high ? So what if you have a lot of interests/Passions? Forget about so called “perfection” ! Perfection , just like normality, is a myth and easily disproved at any time. Isn’t it better to be passionate about many things than to be lifeless about anything? So, here is the message from Eccentric me to you : “ Be passionate about lots of things! Have fun ! Be inspired by many things! Try lots! Find what resonates most and let your heart sing your own song. Wear your badge with Pride”.
