Recharge by Matt Dixon |
Hellooooo !
Yes …I am still here….clicking and ticking away..and I mean that literally (but I will get on to that later…)… For now, I am “recharging” …. Still no dyeing, no heavy lifting of dye post or anything really.
I went into hospital last week Wednesday to get my heart fixed and become a bionic bunny π° so to speak.
There were some minor complications, which meant I could not really use my left arm for a few days at all and there was a bit more pain than I thought there would be , but apart from that , all apparently went well.
When I got home, Paul didn’t want me to do anything !(I could so get used to that!) and it has only been in the last few days that I started to potter around and start my computer up again. Before that I have been tentatively knitting hearts after I could start using my arm again. Relaxing on the couch with knitting and a book and some painkillers: Bliss ! So I was clicking away right? Knitting I mean.
Before that on the Friday, normally my blog update day, I was hurtled back a bit because we lost our gorgeous bunny Hilde. She was quite old and has had a lot of problems and developed cancer, but before I went to hospital, she was still eating like a small lion and happily hopping around. I came home and then, that day, she decided it was time to go. I know it was a long time coming, but I still have a lot of heart ache when we lose a treasured part of our family. Vale Hilde! May you hop free over the rainbow bridge.
I did not really have the strength to do an update that Friday but over the weekend with lots of resting, I started to feel better and energized. At the hospital it was discovered that with the slow heart rate I normally have, my heart missed beats in 25% of the cases! So no wonder I was feeling so exhausted all the time.
On Monday I had to see a doctor again to check on the wound and all is going pretty good, no fever or anything either. Yeah! Still so sore though and , just so you know, it feels super weird: I cannot sleep on my side (it feels like the gizmo shifts around…obviously not, but gravity is in play here pulling at the sutures etc so yeah…a bit ouch!) and I cannot lift my left arm for the next two weeks or lift anything heavier than 2kilos for the next 6 weeks. Now, you just try and immobilize your arm (try to fix your hair with one arm or put a t shirt on … not lifting your arm ..lol) or find anything that is lighter than 2 kilos. I can’t lift a bunny or a cat or a big bottle of water or a pot…they are all heavier than 2 kilos LOL
I can live with that for now but wait ! there’s more: I started doing computer work like designing new labels for the September club and some new blends I have been working on, doing knitting designs etc and as soon as I start the laptop up, there it goes! I get a tick tick tick twitch spasm going in my heart …it is driving me bonkers.
At first I obviously just had an idea that something was not going well…but …knowing me I thought “well, it’s just me, still getting to know my bionic heart, it might be normal?” but just like that annoying tick you sometimes get on your eyes or a muscle, my heart muscle spasms everytime I go near me laptop when I type or try to read what’s on screen.. I need longer arms and better eyes…. Until that time I need to figure things out and do stuff differently…. The adventure continues ! π°π§Άπ°
I’m getting better…I know I am getting better, because I want to get up and do things again and I am starting to get frustrated, because I can’t …not yet anyway… so this is me trying to be a patient patient…lol
The next 4 weeks I will have to practice being patient…I am grateful that I already dyed the September club before I went into hospital ! So grateful!
I will put some teasers up of the club later next week and they will all be shipped out start of September !
Please don’t forget to sign up again if you want to keep receiving your monthly club parcels. The sign ups for the next clubs starting in October are still open ! Go get it ! π
Now for this blog update I thought I’d offer you some very sumptuous super soft tops to spin that I dyed before the whole hospital holiday ! Yeah ! So, enjoy looking at all these goodies ! Please know that I am very , very grateful for your support!
Still knitting colourful hearts to stay calm ❤️π°❤️ I hope you are too and having a great time ! ❤️

50g/ AU$19
Two organically grown superior green tea leaves and a jasmine bud are plucked from the best quality tea bushes and mixed with delicately smelling jasmine blossoms, then sieved and hand rolled on bamboo trays, into small balls while the leaves are not quite dry.
The leaf captures the fine jasmine aroma and releases it during brewing, giving a champagne coloured cup.
Brewing: 1-3 minutes 75-80degC ,
4 pearls/cup,
you can reinfuse 3-4 times so those 4 pearls last a looong time
Carefully handrolled tea
Enjoy the tea over and over again, by adding hot water again and again
