Happy New Year !!!

I hope all of you have had a wonderful, fun and happy Christmas ! IWe certainly had a very relaxing one! I spent the day cooking, baking, reading and knitting. Even if it was only one day off here, it meant that I could “reset” my mind and focus on some exciting new adventures coming up in the new year. Well, I am kind of jumping the gun with todays offering I guess, so you could say that the New Year has arrived early here on the IxCHeL blog 😊 Bit more on that later !

I have been playing with lots of colour too and doing lots of swatches, ready to offer you new fingering weight tweed yarn adventures in the new year and patterns to go with it ! Here are some photos to give you an idea :

IxCHeL Tweed swatches !

Apart from the new yarn adventures starting today…yes, yes, I’m getting there ! lol There are amazing new fibre blend adventures coming up with a fabulous rare Mexican Sheep and a rare Portuguese sheep breed as well. I have also secured a new harvest of Valais Blacknose to make into a fabulous blend AND also Navajo Churro to make my Viva Frida blend again with agave cactus ! Very excited about some very special fibres as well in the new year that I will be able to blend together. Not only new blends and new yarns, but also new roads to travel: I am planning on some very exciting NEW directions to take with my little business, making it even more fun and wider in scope. More on that in the new Year ! All in all: exciting and fun and most of all colour and new roads to travel.

Looking back, 2019 was a tough year to say the least : I felt I was losing myself , had no energy, felt run down by the constant pressure I put myself under but also the stress that the world was adding: the political landscape becoming like a Pit of Despair or should I say a Swamp with R.O.U.S (=Rodents of Unusual Size…I take my queues from the Princess Bride there…lol); I kept battling, I fell hard and hurt myself badly just after the Handknitters Guild Show, It was discovered my heart was in the right place but not functioning on all cylinders, was diagnosed with a melanoma (oh joy!), still kept working to get everything ready for Bendigo Show but almost died in doing so, had a heart operation in late August and became bionic ! YEAH ME!, worked to get lots of fibre and yarnready for the Sheep show in September and then, for the first time in 15 years, went on a holiday to the Great Barrier reef which I dreamt about doing for a loooong time ! and I keep swimming ! Here I am !!! With a better perspective, more energy, a better sense of me and more dreams than ever. My year in a nut shell ! I sincerely hope that your year was a lot of fun with heaps of adventures (good ones !) and that you too, are filled with hope and dreams for the future! We are all in this together. The sooner we realise what the important things are in life, friends, family, dreams and being passionate about what you do, the better it is. Share, Smile, Live and be happy ! Be there for others and yourself ! Have fun ! Carpe Diem !

IxCHeL Buddhas tears tea

Two organically grown superior green tea leaves and a jasmine bud are plucked from the best quality tea bushes and mixed with delicately smelling jasmine blossoms, then sieved and hand rolled on bamboo trays, into small balls while the leaves are not quite dry. 

The leaf captures the fine jasmine aroma and releases it during brewing, giving a champagne coloured cup. 

 Brewing: 1-3 minutes 75-80degC , 

 4 pearls/cup, 

you can reinfuse 3-4 times so those 4 pearls last a looong time
