It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas....

I have always been a Halloween and Christmas kinda person ! Granted , it was much easier in Europe and Canada than Texas and Mexico. There is something weird about a Christmas when it is smoking hot… saying that, we had to put the woodfire back on because the temps were dropping to 10C ! no snow though. Which would be strange in Australia in “summer” . Even here….in the mountains…

I have been wanting a proper Christmas tree for years. And FINALLY !!!! YES!!! Paul submitted and went to the Seville Tree farm and Presto ! We have a Christmas tree. It would not be MY kind of Christmas tree without A weeping (dr who ) angel ..and a tardis….Not a lot else going on deco wise except some awesome gifts of ..that is SEVENTEEN Christmas knitted cute mini socks I received from friends. I REALLY have to knit some Christmas balls !!!!

Totally different from European and Canadian Christmas trees I am used to: the Australian Christmas trees are super soft and you can give them a hug without them leaving you looking like a porcupine ! LOL It is gorgeous and the smell is divine!!!! I only had one set of lights and a few old glass blown ornaments from days gone by but I am very happy with my cozy tree. It will be amazing for my time off: cozily sitting on my couch and reading and knitting ! Yes! You read that right ! MY TIME OFF! 

This blog update is going to be the last one of this year! If it was up to me I would go on and on and on..but Paul vetoed : I am exhausted, if there was a word to describe more than exhausted that would be me atm…lol I need to stop. I need to stop and relax get my mind going on other things so I can recharge my batteries. I have just calculated I have started IxCHeL , my business in arts crafts and design in 2004: that is SEVENTEEN YEARS. You have to know something about me (If you didn’t catch on already): I want to please, enable and I have a hard time saying “NO”… also I am totally Introvert and a control freak (in a nice way..lol). 

 People who KNOW ME , can see this : when you ask me something : ask me something: I am all yours. There is no in between! There’s not “ I will talk to you while I am putting my groceries away kinda thing” : no! You have my full attention. Always! I will do my best to enable, make you happy and enjoy your craft or whatever you are doing. This takes it’s toll. 

I am happy to do that,but it also means that unknowingly to myself, I don’t give myself any time off. If it was not for my soulmate, I would not see the necessity of a holiday (I haven’t had the luxury of a “weekend” in like …..forever? …lol) 

Anyway, my fault ! Totallly ! But I need some time to recharge, I may feel like I am 18 but I really am much, much older than that. I have lived more than I have in front of me.. (morbid but true) which brings me to the next thing: No matter how old or young you are: do your thing ! Have fun ! Don’t apologise for having fun and adventures and thinking differently. Don’t conform. Do YOUR thing! Be YOU! And yes….. be gutsy enough to say NO! when you want to ! You only live once ! Enjoy it. Make a difference. Do good. Make people happy. Make yourself Happy. Be YOU !

So. This is my last blog update of the year. I am scared… but I am going to go with it ! I am going to take some time off . Lots of thigs still to do ! I have two days of my 12 days of Christmas stil to finish, lots of cleaning up to do, a few spinning and dyeig order sto finish over the weekend and send off together with the 12 days of Christmas, clean the dye cave and then…it is this big pile of fabulous reading I will be attaching: Lots of Shetland wool week books, Shetland adventures, fairisle books, Shetland biography by Mrs Cleves and lost and lots of catching up on sleep and relaxing. 

Do I have any excursions planned? Not really but I would LOOOOVE to go to the NGV (national gallery of Victoria), the Melbourne Museaum for some much needed dino love and a visit to the Alowyn garden in Yarra Glenn and hopefully some to the Cactus gardens near Strathmerton. If you are following me on Instagram you may know I love my cacti ! But.. I am probably going to do absolutely nothing ....who knows...I might surprise myself....lol

Shipping :  I am still working and mailing the parcels out fast as humanly possible :-) All orders received and paid for of the Friday updates, will be shipped first thing monday morning. We do daily post office runs (if necessary). The recent AusPost changes to parcel pickups from businesses therefore does not apply to us because WE deliver your parcel directly to our nearest AusPost hub.

Seeing that there are currently lots of Covid cases, especially in NSW ain VIC, there can be some AusPost sorting centres that do not have enough staff so there will be delays in getting the parcel to you. As soon as your parcel is shipped you will receive an automatic email from AusPost with the tracking number so you can see where your parcel is and the approximate ETA. 

Overseas deliveries are highly impacted by the very low amount of planes out of Australia t the moment and the very high pressure on AuPost. Please be patient during these pandemic times. We do our utmost to keep everything running smoothly on our end and if you have any questions: please do not hesitate to ask. Always happy to help!
