Smile ! It’s Friday !

Easier said than done sometimes: Don’t worry be happy, or those other quotes that can drive one over the edge like “project happiness” . Sometimes it is just not that easy! Life can throw some real doozies our way and it is not as simple as turning a switch and say…”just ooze happiness” .....

On the other hand: what I have learnt in my long life of self punishing behaviour sometimes is that whatever happens, “ Do not put the key to happiness in somebody else’s pocket” What does that mean? Well, Your happiness is not dependent on anybody else’s happiness, or expectations, or demands. 

There comes a time , for some later than others, that you come to the realization that no matter where you go, what you do, the job you have, the family you have or not have, or the health you have or not have: You are YOU. There’s absolutely no one else in that head of yours than yourself. So don’t beat yourself up because you “think” you have to meet somebody’s expectations (that is rubbish in itself…) you be you ! is what I say. 

Be honest with yourself and do not try to be something you are not. Today I was on the brink. I am a nice person. I like me. I (mostly..lol) like other people, I like to put a smile on everybody’s face and I do go out of my way to try and please people. I say yes a hell of a lot of times. I know! But today I thought myself rude for speaking my mind. After hurting my knee very badly last Monday, not sleeping because of the mountain of work the size of Mount Everest AND said painful knee, dyeing two clubs back to back and updates and doing the twelve days of Christmas I was feeling on the edge of sanity…I was starting to falter..like …falling into a blubbering mound of tears…Well, today got me over the edge, because somebody did not get it when I said I did not have the headspace to deal with something that they thought was just a simple task. I thought I was rude because I told them the truth very nicely and then I collapsed… blubbering like an idiot for 5 minutes and then got on with dyeing and philosophizing about why I thought I was rude just informing somebody of my reality. 

I am okay. I am just exhausted from the pain and the tasks I set myself, but I am okay. I will have a much needed rest coming up in two weeks time where I will lounge about , reading lots of books, doing absolutely nothing and recharging the batteries. 

 I do think not many people realise the reality of running a small business of all handmade items.. but that is another discussion right there. There is a huge disparity between what some people think I do and what I am doing to get all the things done. And I am not complaining ! I am happy with what I do! I LOVE what I do. It brings me happiness and joy and all that other fuzzy wuzzy stuff . I just do not “people” very well most of the time as an extreme introvert. 

 I know I am not alone in this. So, if you feel you have reached your limit, especially with the “Holiday season” coming up…I would say : do not under estimate your worth, your value, your own happiness. Be you ! If you don’t want to be social because convention asks you to party but you don’t want to..say no! sit back and DON’t become a blubbering fool like I was, but smile and say “Well done you!” and enjoy a cuppa, reading a book or knitting in your own safe space. 

 Anyway..that is that little titbit of philosophical wisdom dealt with.…lol Glad that is off my mind. 

 Wednesday saw the start of my Twelve days of Christmas fundraiser event ! It is huge every year and I am trying very hard to make it fun and special for everybody everyday ! If you do not know what it is, please have a read of my post on facebook or Instagram where I announced it, But the short of it is that every day at 12PM AEDT there is a special offer. It is lots of fun to see what I come up with and every day it is something different : there is something there for felters, spinners, knitters and spindlers. Have a look! Shipping :  I am still working and mailing the parcels out fast as humanly possible :-) All orders received and paid for of the Friday updates, will be shipped first thing monday morning. We do daily post office runs (if necessary). The recent AusPost changes to parcel pickups from businesses therefore does not apply to us because WE deliver your parcel directly to our nearest AusPost hub.

Seeing that there are currently lots of Covid cases, especially in NSW ain VIC, there can be some AusPost sorting centres that do not have enough staff so there will be delays in getting the parcel to you. As soon as your parcel is shipped you will receive an automatic email from AusPost with the tracking number so you can see where your parcel is and the approximate ETA. 

Overseas deliveries are highly impacted by the very low amount of planes out of Australia t the moment and the very high pressure on AuPost. Please be patient during these pandemic times. We do our utmost to keep everything running smoothly on our end and if you have any questions: please do not hesitate to ask. Always happy to help!
