Stay Groovy, Baby !

Time to get “beamed up” to this weeks’ fluffy update ! 

 It is one of my favourite exclusive IxCHeL blends of all time: Lush Bunny Tops. 

I saw I hadn’t done an update for this blend since 2020 so it was about time to offer you this brilliantly soft blend of superfine Merino, Cashmere, Suri, Mulberry Silk, Angora bunny and luscious Tencel. Tencel is a plant fibre (made from wood pulp) so it does not take the dye like the protein fibres. It is silky in appearance and feel and gives the whole blend a bit of pearlescence. It is gorgeous and soft : Great to spin and absolutely heavenly to wear. 

 I was also reminded of this blend when I was dyeing and packing all the January clubs last week because the Lush Bunny Tops label is a bit of a “bunny take" on “girl with the pearl earring” by Johannes Vermeer, which was this months' artwork for the club.

All the January clubs have been shipped this Tuesday and some lucky club members already received their parcel.

BTW, The rare breeds adventures and help will continue next week ! I got a bit carried away with wanting to tell lots of stories, because it is such a fabulous breed that is so close to my heart. But, that is NEXT Friday! 

In the meantime you will be happy to know that in the last three weeks I have dyed about 50-60 kilos of fibre and that’s without counting all the blending, carding and prepping. My little Christmas break has obviously invigorated me, BUT I probably will have to start doing it a bit calmer….there are some muscles hurting I totally forgot I had…lol 

Also, I am going to book in a day off this Sunday because it is our 18 year wedding anniversary ! Paul and I knew each other since 2000 so that is actually a whopping 22 years !! I am amazed ! LOL Anyway, we are going to try and celebrate in these pandemic times on Sunday…let’s see how we go in the wide world outside...if it isn't "locked"…rofl.

I am trying to not stress about this whole pandemic Omicron variant ….i can only get my booster shot in mid February (that was the earliest possibility) so fingers crossed….I feel I am super , super lucky because I do not have to worry about RATS (Rapid antigen testing at work) since I don’t go anywhere except from in and around the house to do all my work and Paul , when he does go out to get supplies or do the post runs, is extremely careful. I feel for everybody who has to go through multiple testing and isolation and also have to keep their kids tested and safe. I am surprised that probably the most capitalist country in the world, the United States, is sending people these rapid antigen tests for free and here in Australia, some pharmacies are price gouging and selling these things at exorbitantly high prices, while Scott Morrison claims that giving these things for free would “undermine” businesses. Shame, shame, shame !

My spinning and knitting are definitely keeping me calm and less stressed out about all of this and I do hope that craft has offered you all a respite from everything that is happening outside. That was one of the reasons I wanted to offer some new colourways tonight as well, some groovy, happy and bright and fun colours to make you smile while spinning. Shipping :  I am still working and mailing the parcels out fast as humanly possible :-) All orders received and paid for of the Friday updates, will be shipped first thing monday morning. We do daily post office runs (if necessary). The recent AusPost changes to parcel pickups from businesses therefore does not apply to us because WE deliver your parcel directly to our nearest AusPost hub.

Seeing that there are currently lots of Covid cases, especially in NSW ain VIC, there can be some AusPost sorting centres that do not have enough staff so there will be delays in getting the parcel to you. As soon as your parcel is shipped you will receive an automatic email from AusPost with the tracking number so you can see where your parcel is and the approximate ETA. 

Overseas deliveries are highly impacted by the very low amount of planes out of Australia t the moment and the very high pressure on AuPost. Please be patient during these pandemic times.
