Walnut trio: young walnuts in the making
The Cockatoos are here again..they have perfect timing: they know exactly when the walnut tree is starting to bear fruit. The little buds have now grown into tiny walnuts and it won’t be long before they are under attack. The walnut tree is huge, is amazing and too big to put netting over so I did train Jazz, our bunny dog, to go into bark and attack mode everytime I say “white bird!!”or better still if she sees one landing on the veranda. Lately Jazz has dropped off a bit though…she has reached the age of 7 dog years now and it shows: she sleeps a lot, a bit slow and her face has become grey. Everytime we have people over, especially on bunny spin in days , she reaches a high level of excitement and wants to greet and talk to everybody. The sweetheart.
Jazz guarding some of my newly hand felted eyeballs for some more Art Yarn ;-)
This week has been super busy with getting all the fibre clubs, sock yarn clubs and funky bunny batt clubs sent out AND I have been doing heaps of spinning. I have finished an IxCHeL art yarn I call sugar and spice. Lots of new techniques like adding buttons too big to fit through the spinning wheel orifice and adding gorgeous shredded or cut up fabric and heps of bling ofcourse. They have come up very nicely and reminds me of Xmas. I did plan to finish my magic mushroom art yarn and had the funky bunny bling baat all made up and all the accessories to add to it organised, but I am afraid I ran out of time..what a surprise..lol..so, I will have another art yarn on offer again next week.
There has been a lot of spinning : more natural MINK!! On offer ! yeah!!
Last but not least a wonderful blend of Baby Camel and Yak tops that are so soft and amazing to spin it is like holding a cloud !

In childhood, DA would take us out to the undeveloped Lake edges. Here he taught us to 'get the noise out' of ourselves, our inner being, so the animals would not scatter. Often, he would assist us to sneak up on the mink families at play! Delightful! They liked sliding down a muddy bank into the water! Love your mink yarn, and photos!
