my guess is that Trixie can see with her ears !
Before I start with the bunny and other news I have to set the record straight about the Tawny frogmouth I showed you last week: I received an email from Karyll, saying: “Just for what it's worth, they aren't waiting for prey. During the day, they try to camouflage themselves so that they don't get harassed by day birds like Noisy Miners and so on. If they are found, these other birds make a hell of a racket and attract other birds to join in the disturbance and try to force the frogmouth to move on, as they see this night bird as a predator. It isn't, of course, as it only eats moths and insects, but other night birds such as owls certainly will eat birds. At night they never have to pretend that they are sticks, since the day birds are all asleep. At that time, they just sit normally on a branch or post waiting to jump out and catch an insect.” Thanks Karyll !

The new bunnies from Rivkah Rabbitry that arrived at the IxCHeL fibre farm last week, are doing absolutely terrific! Millie, in her luxurioius condo with attached nest box is getting grumpier and more hungry by the day (good sig that the pregnancy is kicking in..lol)
Millie
Tawnee and her three kits Tilda, Trixie and TicTac are happily hopping around in their big bunny run in the studio. It’s fantastic to have them close so I can see all their antics and bunny binkies.
it is also a very good way to socialise them : getting them used to Jazz the bunny dog, music and ofcourse people. The little ones are getting a little grooming session every day so they can get used to handling. Saying that, the moment I put them back in their run, they have straw and hay all over them again from playing around. TicTac, the tiniest angora bunny of the litter, is the champ: I call her the vacuum cleaner of the family, because however small she is , she seems to pick up everything she comes across with her fur. She also does most of the binkies, hopping around and generally having fun!
Trixie, the chocolate one is so much like her mum: very docile and spending her days either grazing or sleeping with the occasional binkie thrown in the mix.

a close up of the globe amaranth flower, sitting on a nest of green tea
Amaranth Flowering Art Tea in a glass tea pot: stunning to look at and fabulous to drink.
Amaranth Blooming Flower Tea
Ingredient: green tea 78%, Globe amaranth flower 22%
This finely picked blooming tea pod has been masterfully tied together by hand and lightly dried shortly after cultivation. Once the blooming flower tea pod is steeped in near-boiling water it blooms like a real flower.
It unfolds into a high-rising of globe amaranth sitting on a tray of green tea leaves.
The combination of the flowers' captivating scent and the fresh tea leaves produces a wonderful and balanced aroma.
Green tea is an excellent anti oxidant and the globe amaranth is a perfect liver cleanser, great for skin conditions, is said to improve vision and is great fighting headaches !
Preparation Method:
1. Put one blooming flower tea pod into a glass.
2. Pour into glass 150ml 85°C water.
3. Brew for 3-5 minutes until the blooming flower tea pod sinks down and fully unfolds. The blooming flower tea does not get bitter as fast as regular tea, so it is safe to add time to the steeping.
4. you can brew Amaranth flowering tea up to four times!
Flavour : Mellow, floral.
you can serve the Flowering Art tea in a high tea glass as well and just add water.
you can steep the same tea several times and enjoy the art tea all day
