Well, what a week…in worldwide politics, whether you are watching the US political soap opera or the Australian or the whole BREXIT saga. I have to admit, on the sidelines, it has been a very good time for popcorn producers. Personally, I have been appalled by the fact that those in power seem to be focused on Power and/or profiting as much from their position as possible (Obviously not all, but that is the overall perception).
The last week has been one of total disbelief. For those in the USA: how can it possibly be that a President, who has publicly asked for another power to find dirt on his opponent, been known to lie at least 10 times a day about matters as crowd size to pay offs to porn stars, can still hold the highest office in a Democracy while dividing his own country beyond belief and taking it back to times where the KKK were walking the streets). For those of us in Australia: the unbelievable back stabbing by a potato headed unpopular politician gone totally wrong, resulting in the prime Minister being ousted none the less and replaced by a loyalist to the former prime minister saying it is time for a new “generation”….that being said by a person who is 50 years old , hardly a new generation and just a teensy weeny bit more palatable than the one who started the whole “stab in the back” situation. In the end, no one really knows why this bizarre change has happened. I am sure that lots of people in Australia are totally baffled and at the same time disgusted with the whole situation. One may poetically think the death of communism in the 80s culminated in the fall of the Berlin Wall, now the death of Democracy may well be the construction of another Wall in the States? If anything, I hope there will be more people voting and not less; there will be more people standing up to be part of the Government, who do not need or want Power or benefit personally from their office, but instead work to make the world a better place for ALL.
That being said, I felt the need, especially this week, that we all needed something extremely fluffy and luscious to wrap ourselves in. See it as an anti political protective blanket...lol So, I have dyed up something that is so luxuriously soft and yummy to make you all feel better.
Apart from Political Happenings, this week has been a busy one again! All the club dyeing and preparation was done. Especially the special overdyeing technique on the yarns on the club yarns was very exciting to do and I loved the result. I will post photos of the August clubs soon on my Instagram and facebook pages. In the meantime, the September clubs are already prepped and dyed ! Still a lot more work to do, but the September clubs will be ready to ship first week of September.
Club sign ups for the next round are still open; especially the batt club and the sock yarn clubs are filling up very fast, so do not wait to re-sign if you are a current member or if you are thinking of joining for the first time! Lots of fantastic art is waiting to be “translated” into fibre colours again ! Have a fun week creating your fibery magic !

This awesome event is hosted by the Black & Coloured Sheep Breeders of South East Victoria
There will be craft demos, wonderful fleeces, a petting farm from the Elisabeth Murdoch College, Raffle prizes and of course a huge amount of stall holders offering fantastic fluffy fibres and yarns.
I will be there again as well of course (would not miss it for the world) and I will have some new products again that could not be ready for the Bendigo Show like, natural dyes, plant seeds to grow your own dye garden, natural dye kits, new yarn and design kits as well as my usual range of super fluffy yarns and blends.
I will give you a nice overview closer to the date to help you prepare your shopping list ;-)
