Be my Bunny Valentine |
Happy Valentines Day ! Whether you are in a relationship or not, believe me , you can always celebrate Valentines day and cuddle yarn or fibre ! I have to say today was special in a special kinda way: Forst I received this cute bunny card from a good friend on Valentines day and at the same time Amazon delivered Ebola to my door. Don;t laugh, it;s true! lol Thankfully it was only the book "Ebola" by David Quammen, a science writer I admire greatly! He did some amazing writing and if you are interested in Biology, Ecology and now the spillover of virusses like Hendra, Ebola and most recently, Corona Virus, please read his books " Spillover" and " the Song of the Dodo".
For tonight's update there are some special Blossom Bunny Tops: amazing to spin with its superfine merino, cashmere, angora and rose fibres. Super silky and shiny too ! What else could you possibly want on this romantic day (apart from books about ebola, if you are a nerd like me...lol) 😉
So, what has been happening here on the farm? Well, happy to say that we have and are at the moment , inundated with rain. Which makes drying yarns and fibres a bit harder, but makes for some good plant growing and feed for the bunnies, as well as my dye garden , which has seen better days. Lots of plants have started seeding , like the Japanese Indigo and the true indigo plants together with my 2 year old woad (which I thought was toast this year). Hopefully I can regenerate enough for next years harvest. Next week, keep an eye out on my Instagram feed, where I will let you know all about the seed availability.
Also, the Feb clubs are dry and ready to post on Monday ! Photos and teasers will be on social media next week as well so you can have a look!
As usual, I do not know what to do first: I am working on new blends! Four new Rare sheep breed blends and I hope to have them all finished before the Bendigo Sheep and Wool show. Because there is a lot of hand carding and blending of short batches involved it takes a LOT of time, so please bear with me . What do they say again: good comes to those who wait? LOL I don’t know about you, but on the one hand , having patience is a good thing , however, coupled with the “ I want it all now”-feeling, it can be extremely taxing…LOL But, the hard part is over: sourcing and securing loads and loads of yummy fibre from all over the world and (not so fun) doing all the administrative stuff that goes with it ! The excitement is building here though and I can hardly wait to tell you all about it in the next couple of months ! .
Anyway, on with the show !!! Because tonight there are some pretty amazing “Rosey” fibres waiting to be released out in the open and ready for you to cuddle and give a good home ! AND…. The sign ups for the next IxCHeL clubs are OPEN !!!! Yeah !!! Also, the IxCHeL tweed yarn range is still available, so have a look at all the colours (you can see the photos below all the IxCHeL club sign up information).
Thank you all so much for your awesome support ! Have a wonderful and happy week, filled with lots of fibery and yarny fun !! Enjoy your desserts !
Hugs
Charly
