Ixchel Logo updated to show support for the Australian Wildlife impacted by the Bushfires

So many have been impacted by the huge amount of bushfires raging across our country. Not only people have lost their homes and possessions and even their lives, but also the sheer amount of habitat that has been lost and the millions and millions of wildlife that has been killed or hurt, will have an enormous impact on the world as we know it. I felt the need to do something and right about that time, friends of mine living right in the middle of the area that was impacted to severely in Gippsland, started a Ravelry group for indiedyers to come together and make a difference. So, I jumped straight in.

 I have been dyeing yarns and fibres for a little over 2 months now in support of bushfire relief and thanks to all of you who showed their support, close to $6000 has been donated by all the participants of that Ravelry Group alone !

 The orders for Bushfire support yarns, fibres and batts have all been shipped out today by the way ! and everybody received a thank you letter and little gift along with it to show my appreciation for the amazing support shown.

Safe to say, I have been super busy the last two months!

 The January clubs were also shipped out last week and the February clubs are getting their colours painted on over the weekend !

The photos of the January club are already on facebook and Instagram and the teaser photos of the February club will all be revealed over the weekend !

Last December I was convinced I was going to get the online store / website happening on January, but obviously that did not happen….lol 

 Then I said, well I will get it all organized for March….it’s not that I am a procrastinator, believe me, but I just do not seem to have the time to get my head around sitting down, organizing all the things needed and then just DOING IT! Or, maybe I am…maybe I always seem to “think” there are more important things that I need to do and do those, sending the website stuff back to the end of the line. Kind of like doing homework or housework for that matter, because, let’s face it, knitting or spinning yarn is WAYYYY more important….cough cough 

So maybe I’m not procrastinating at all, I’m just prioritizing.. A bit like saying “ Eat dessert first, because you never know when the world is going to end”…. 

Yeah, I think I just need to lock myself in a room for two weeks and finally get it done…famous last words for sure.

Anyway, on with the show !!! Because tonight there are some pretty amazing shiny fibres waiting to be released out in the open and ready for you to cuddle and give a good home ! AND…. The sign ups for the next IxCHeL clubs are OPEN !!!! Yeah !!!
