Cherry Blossom Time

Cherryblossom fluffiness !

My head is exploding. For the first time in a long time, I have no idea what to write. Not because nothing happened, or I am bored or nothing is going on, but just the opposite. Here are some of the musings going on in my head at the moment....

There are so many things going on, so many projects to tackle, so much paperwork (Oh curse thee bureaucracy and paperwork!!) , so many ideas!!!
I feel like I have need of at least two more heads, five more sets of hands and legs. And, to make things even more surreal, at the same time , I have a wish for more time, more peace, more …time to explore, more time to breathe and more time to sit and reflect and relax. Much of that has totally gone in my life and to tell you the truth, pandemic or zombie apocalypse or not, there has been none of that latter stuff. On the contrary : it has been more time trying to navigate the intricacies of bureaucracy and trying get things to work.
I need more time! ...and also a smidgen (is that a word???! lol) to sit down and do absolutely ..N.O.T.H.I.N.G/....  although I think that is totally unattainable for me....I cannot remember ever doing nothing....lol
...
or being bored....

bit I do need more...just a little more....

More time needed to cope with all the bureaucratic and transport dramas and lags in delivery and coping with all the mayhem.
I am grateful to have my sense of humour and my ever lasting sense of tackling anything and anybody ! Never in my whole life would I have thought that my sense of humour together with my rebellious artistic tendencies, would be the two qualities which would allow me to survive with a bit of a smile (and a bang with my head on the desk every now and again) LOL
I have no idea if this is sustainable, especially since I have already experienced at least two relatively recent  "Lazarus" moments in my life (one being surviving cancer ...twice... and the second being literally my  heart stopping in 2019)…
All in all, I am still the energizer bunny and I‘m still stepping up to fulfill this role, especially at Easter of course. There will be some changes made this year especially , but more about that late this year.

First I would like to say that I am extremely happy to be part of the Handknitters Guild Show again this year at the Coburg Town hall on the 15th AND 16th of MAY !!! It will be SO GOOD AND HUGE, they expanded the show to take place over TWO days no less ! Brilliant ! More time for all of us to dabble in fluff and yarn! Fingers crossed that COVID will stay far away and we will be okay, but there will be COVID safe procedures of course , otherwise I would not even consider it ! What is most important is that we keep everybody safe and happy !

I will put more information out on my facebook and Instagram closer to the date and the links as well, showing everybody where to book their tickets.

I am doing my utmost to produce as much as I can and spin and dye as much as I can, but please be aware that although most of you probably are unaware of this, but animals , lots of animals have been impacted by the terrible and devastating virus as well: Bunnies are susceptible very much and mink as well !
Mink populations all over the world have been devastated by Covid 19 ! Millions have died.....Which means that I will not have as big a supply of my handspun angora yarns and bunny mink yarn as I usually have. This is what a pandemic does. It does not only impact human lives, it impacts everything. The world and all its species are connected. It’s a chain….if one part of the chain is impacted and crumbles, another one experiences the same effects or even worse.
Everything that we experience now, climate wise and virus wise, there is a species that will feel the impact of that as well. The chain at the moment is not as strong as it used to be.
We all may feel fragile and exposed, but at the same time there are so many other species that are also impacted. I have always felt connected to Mother Earth, the need for sustainability and that is why you will probably never ever see me as a big brand or exploding on the market with heaps of products. I will never see so called “Exponential growth” because, in my philosophy “exponential growth” is like an “Outbreak”: unsustainable and doing more harm than good.

So, On this “good Friday” if there is anything I reflect on it is trying to do good, be sustainable and make people happy, not with abundance or an overflow, a cornucopia of too many things, but with something to cherish, to love and to hold in your heart, like a beautiful memory of fleeting cherry blossoms in Spring that put a smile on your face.

In April , almost every second of every day will be spent spinning my angora yarns and angora blended yarns, dyeing the IxCHeL Sock yarns and DK Gaia yarns, to create stock for the May show. After that, I will need a big rest for sure, unless I want to fall over again ! LOL I am planning a fab range of SEXY SCIENTIST colourway yarns again too ! So keep watching this space !
