Love what you do

First of all I want to say a heartfelt THANK YOU to all who have supported and bough the Peace and Sunflower tops last week with proceeds going to the UNHCR for Ukrainian refugees. 

A donation has been made today ! Yeah ! So thank you thank you thank you !

 

I will keep the Peace and Sunflower tops going with proceeds going to the UNHCR, so they are back on offer BUT if you are a lover of all things heathered. I mean , heathered yarns that show off a gorgeous array of tonal colourings, today is your day ! 

I have added a few more colourways to what I am calling “Flower Power tops”. Here is an example of what one colourway , Moss Rose, can look like spun up AND knit into a pair of socks. 

By the way, not only does this blend spin up beautifully with its 21micron soft merino and fine alpaca, it also felts amazingly well !

 

I love the colours and I hope you do too ! They all go so well together ! From a sunny sunflower yellow to a lovely red to a warm marigold and a dusky lavender purple to a mid greyish black that just goes with everything ! Remember the Peace (blue) and the Sunflower (honey yellow) tops (colours of the Ukrainian flag) will still go to donations to the UNHCR in an effort to promote “Make Art not War”.

Apart from all of this I am still spinning and dyeing LOTS to create as much as I possibly can for the big Yarn and Fibre show coming up in May at the Coburg town hall (May 14th and 15th: ) and keep spinning lots and lots of special luxury yarns. You can already book your tickets right here:

I will be there I the same spot as usual, right next to the entrance door in what I call “Fibre and Yarn Narnia” ..LOL 

 It is going to be huge and fun and filled with amazing yarns and fibres and..of course, it will not only be me, loads of other sellers will be there as well !! I will post more updates the sooner I have more info. 

What else is happening?  Well....eh...this happened...

I did go through some stress, because of my teeth..yes my teeth. In the scheme of things it is absolutely not a huge thing, but I am extremely distraught and stressed out by the whole thing. My teeth you see have always been a mess, ever since I was very young, my teeth did not get a good start due to lots of medications and extremely bad childhood illnesses, and then , working in the fields of Guatemala and Mexico where no dentist was available…a toothache was handled by just pulling the bastard out. And yeah, no anesthetics either for that moment of blissful joy! It gives that little shop of horrors dentist scene a whole different perspective doesn’t it? I do love that song ... LOLOL  Then of course cancer treatments played absolute havoc on my teeth as well...(oh joy) and ...

Anyhoo, to cut a long story short: I lost a tooth. I did not misplace it...lol....it just …kinda fell out…. (Insert horrified face) !!!

And now I talk like that kid in the Christmas song “All I want for Christmas are my two front teeth. I can laugh about it now, because , let’s face it, humor is my only source of keeping that whole desolate experience funny and bearable. 

I made an appointment to see a proper dentist though ! Oh boy! I called and promptly cried and could hardly get my words out. The poor girl on the other side (a trainee I later heard who was only on the job for two weeks! LOL) was scarred for life with my blabbering no doubt…LOL 

 Anyway…appointment made….holding my breath for what is to come (yes, I have a dentist phobia), but I probably will have to mortgage the farm…ROFL I’m in no pain so that is a blessing in disguise and I am spinning yarn to keep my blood pressure down… because like many people, spinning is my happy place. 

One more thing on the teeth subject:  DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW MANY WORDS START WITH AN “S”????? Desperately trying to talk without using any of those “S” words now is an adventure all by itself  !!! ...Sh*t !  ..... LOL

Shipping :  I am still working and mailing the parcels out fast as humanly possible :-) All orders received and paid for of the Friday updates, will be shipped first thing monday morning. We do daily post office runs (if necessary). The recent AusPost changes to parcel pickups from businesses therefore does not apply to us because WE deliver your parcel directly to our nearest AusPost hub.

Seeing that there are currently lots of Covid cases, especially in NSW ain VIC, there can be some AusPost sorting centres that do not have enough staff so there will be delays in getting the parcel to you. As soon as your parcel is shipped you will receive an automatic email from AusPost with the tracking number so you can see where your parcel is and the approximate ETA. 

Overseas deliveries are highly impacted by the very low amount of planes out of Australia t the moment and the very high pressure on AuPost. Please be patient during these pandemic times.
