Silver Linings

rain, rain, rain and more rain in the Yarra Valley…and cold too, but hey: You know what that means: Spinning and knitting and crochet weather to get more fluffy warm creative fluffies off the needles and wearing them AND get more knitting done 😊

I have been super busy dyeing the June Club, so I have been pretty warm standing in the dye room ! Now the trick is going to be to get all that wet fibre and yarn dry! Lucky for me the wood fire is doing a wonderful job warming the house up, so instead of the fibre and yarn drying outside, it is all nice and cozy with is , insulating the living room next to the fire…lol It may take a bit longer than in sunny weather to get it all done and shipped out, but I am still hopeful that we can ship the clubs out to all the members end of next week. Here is a teaser of the June club:

The inspiration is a painting by the Ukranian painter Zinaida Serebriakova in 1915, called The Harvest. This month was super special to do, not only because of the topic “the harvest: in this very sad time for Ukraine and the world, the colours, but also because I wanted to add an extra layer using and supporting small Ukranian farms doing it extremely tough at this time. In the blend offered for the Fibre and batt club are some pretty special Ukranian Romanov sheep fibres. As soon as all the clubs have been shipped to all the members I will post photos of the club about a week or two later. I would not want to spoil the surprise for the club members!!! For this week’s blog update I thought a bit of a silver lining was in order after all the weta dn cold weather we have been having: Silver Star Sock Yarn !!!
