Happy Hoppy Christmas !!!

This is the last blog update before Christmas next week ! Unbelievable but true !

So... I thought, why not do something special ! I have been so busy throughout the year doing all the clubs and rare sheep breed adventures, I hardly had any time to do some special funky bunny batts for the regular Friday updates. Not good enough!!.. I know!!....so , I have made a few special batts for you and a small mountain of very special Holiday Season batts at a very good price ! Not to miss because they have some very special fibre in them as well and they remind me of mulled wine and Christmas.

Mind you, thinking about mulled wine at the moment is a bit torturous since even here in our normally cool mountain climate we are experiencing a heatwave! It is 39degrees Celsius atm (about a 105F) and it is not looking like cooling down very soon either. Everything is as dry as a tinderbox and even here water is running out! Who would have thought ! Too much water and cold is not good but too little and too hot is definitely worse ! Especially for our crops and animals who are doing it tough. Mind you, we do not have the luxury of aircon here either;  at least the earthy rammed the bunny run has a natural cool temperature all year round. Most of the bunnies have received their haircut except for Tawnee, Babette and Uhura: they are getting a good trim tomorrow !

So, what was I saying? Oh yes, tonight's update …okay so there are batts, but since this is a special time of the year and I doubt that any of you are going to be looking at a computer screen next Friday (Christmas) or New Years eve (the Friday after) I am offering you some things that are simply too good not to snaffle. Again: limited supply rules because you know it is only me and not an army of Christmas elves or minions.

I also want to take this opportunity to thank all of you , who have been following me and reading my blog updates every week and supporting our little fibre farm: I could not have done it without you. I cannot stress how important it is to have friends in fibre , to have people around you who know how long things take to make and how much love and effort goes into every single item I am putting up for adoption so to speak. I could not do what I do without you and I am extremely grateful for you being there for me and with me.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Wallaby Fibre

Australian Wild Wallaby Fibre, Super fine fibre that will create a gorgeous halo in your spinning. 
Just blend a tiny bit with your other fibres on your hand carders and you will be amazed how much softer this fibre makes the blend. 
It has a gorgeous grey colour. It is short like possum fibre. Very nice to spin blended with other fibres: you only need a max of 10% and you will so notice the difference!

We have several families of Wallabies living in the bush near us and they often come down to graze. Every now and again you can find little clumps of their fibre here and there. It is just magical to work with.
