What a week eh? There’s so much going on!

Even me, in my little cave / studio, in the middle of nowhere, could not possibly escape from hearing about the Toilet paper apocalypse and the threat of a new corona virus.
For all of you dealing with auto immune issues and also those of you going through chemo in their fight against cancer, this virus is the last thing you need : I am sending you lots of love.
For all the rest of you , showing symptoms of a sudden desire to accumulate as much toilet paper as you possibly can….eh… calm down !!!! I hope you have enough edibles in your pantry, because that toilet paper you are hoarding is worth “Jack Shit” (pardon the pun) , if your body doesn’t have anything to digest. And, although they say fibre is good for you, the nutritional value of toilet paper, is nil.
My advice, for what it is worth, wash your hands a lot !, ask your GP for help and -if in doubt- stay home and knit. We can do this people ! Me, as an introvert, hardly getting out anyway, I can personally vouch for the fact that being in quarantine at home for 2 weeks, surrounded by books, knitting, yarn and spinning fibre, is not the end of the world !
Stay safe, be calm and take care of one another and never, ever, panic ! Running out of yarn or fibre? Not to worry! I got your back! I can send you supplies over immediately …lol

So, what else has been going on here on the farm? Well, Lots of fibre and yarn prepping to get the March Clubs done. I am a bit behind with getting them dry, because all of a sudden Sunmer has left the building and we are battered by rain and cold winds. Not necessarily the best combo for getting anything woolly dry..lol But, it’s looking very good: the dye pigments have behaved themselves, even the naughty indigos.

It’s been super busy again as usual and I am really struggling to get all the things done I want to. Extra time has been taken up by my walking and hiking every day as well, but I feel that if I do not keep that up , my body and health will just go down the drain.
I have felt immensely better doing these , sometimes super hard hikes, because let’s face it, it’s not like there are no hills or mountains here..lol but I am getting better and fitter. Most importantly, I can move better without an extreme amount of pain. I was losing track you know.
I can be very stubborn and most of all, very VERY focused. Now, that is not all bad, but I can be SO focused on getting a job done, like spinning yarn or weaving, I do not get up regularly or... at all…lol now THAT’s more than commitment, it meant that my body was basically just in the one position at all time. Not good …not good at all.

 So yeah, I am happy I am getting off my butt so to speak. It does mean I lose a bit of time doing other things I need to be doing. Like, finally finishing a proper website…..lol Oh well, I’ll get there….sometime….soon…hopefully …lol

In the meantime, I am not only doing the dyeing and fibre stuff, but I am also busy making my own pigments, foraging and ….a new one…making ink for my painting and drawing! More on that next week! I am preparing something very exciting for you on that front.
