This weekend was going to be a huge Yarn show weekend at the Coburg town hall. I have been going there for at least a decade and it has always been on top of my list of happy yarnie get togethers; catching up with some fellow stall holders I love dearly and talking to all my fibre and yarn friends face to face. At the end of that day I always leave with a big smile on my face and no voice, because I have been talking too much…lol I am so going to miss that this weekend ! If you get a chance to support the handknitters and crocheters guild of Victoria, please do: they do an amazing job !
This pandemic is playing lots of tricks on me in other ways as well: I am starting to get a bit anxious…well, a lot..lol
And that’s no good and it sure doesn’t help me or anybody else for that matter.
Last night I was in a pretty bad way. This bad voice was whispering in my ear and dousing me with all kinds of negative thoughts and feelings. I could not get out of it. I even had very bad dreams of running around strange buildings that looked like huge mazes that I got totally lost in. yeah, that's about the same I feel when I am awake..lol
It took all day today to get my brain going in the right direction again but I am still , how to say this…eh..a bit of an anxiety bunny…
I have put so many things on my to do list that I seem to be running on the spot without getting anywhere. I want to do all the things! Unfortunately “All the things” are basically updates and custom dyeing and spinning and when it is time to get to my “to do list” , the day is gone.
I remember the days that I could do so much !! I was filled with this bounty of time that I filled expertly. Now, I seem to be flapping around like a fish on dry land, trying to breathe. Mind you, I can’t complain ! I still get a big amount of things done, but I just cannot get to the Other stuff I have my mind set on: like reading a book, weaving, giving my inklette loom a work out. you know: the extra curricular stuff that is pretty important to keep sane in life. I know it is in my head. I have to get out of this black hole of time. Have a bit of an adventure. Go outside ! LOL yes, My last date with the outside world was march 10th ! I think I am in this phase of the Shining (the movie), you know…“All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy…” I gotta get out. Have a date …lol
Talking of dates: this brings me right back to the handknitters guild show and THIS UPDATE! !! At the show I always have a special offer tub: a special blind date bin ! Normally these things disappear in the first few hours of the show. Since there is no show this weekend due to the pandemic, I thought it would be a great idea to offer it to all of you , faithful followers and readers of my blog. It'll be a chance to get your hands on some blind dates with yarn!!!
I got the idea of this blind date thing years ago from my library actually where they ran “ Blind date with a book” which is a great way to venture out of your comfort zone, get surprised by books you normally do not choose, because let’s face it : a lot of us judge a book by its cover…lol
Same thing goes for yarn!
So today for this update I m offering you my “BLIND DATE with YARN” show, where you can take a chance and fall in love with a yarn, try new things, new and exciting colourways for you maybe , be surprised! Your perfect match may be right in there !
Every “Blind date yarn” is individually wrapped with a gift and there is a sticker added with a bit of a description to “tickle your fancy” so to speak 😊
